This was the first time I had used Sufix, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I always get nervous using different colors of lines, and I wasn't sure the line would live up to the "Super Tough" motto on the spool.
The line cast well and was sensitive enough for me to pick up bites and line movement fairly easily, yet I didn't lose a single hook while hauling in nice-sized crappie, bass and hybrid bluegill - known for being notoriously tough fighters. Several times I was looking the other way and felt a fish bite, so I yanked the rod to set the hook without even having to turn my head.
I didn't get a chance to see how well it would hold up against a big catfish, but judging by its performance on Saturday, I don't think it'll be much of a problem. The thickness and color of the line made it feel more like I was fly fishing for trout, which was a cool feeling, and I ran into relatively few tangles. Not even abrasive objects like lumber seemed to cause a problem for this line.
I would recommend it to anyone who is sick of losing lures to big bass or hidden structures. One of the best experiences I've had with a fishing line in 25-plus years of fishing.
