“My main goal will be to teach the class to be more versatile in crappie fishing,” Maupin told The Topeka Capital-Journal. “I plan to talk about casting, two-pole trolling, slip corking, spider rigging and one-poling. When would be the best time to use these techniques, what setups I use when using these techniques and why, as well as several tips with each of these techniques.
“I want them to learn certain times of the year lend better to certain techniques and give them the tools to catch crappie year-round.”
The entire four-week course will cost $89 for those wishing to enroll, which can be done online at http://www.jccc.edu/ce or by calling (913) 469-2323. The class will be held each week at the Regnier Center on the JCCC campus.
