Among topics that will be discussed during the General Discussion portion of the meeting will be waterfowl and webless migratory bird regulations, drawing of 2018 big game permits and a report on the five-year review of the state’s threatened and endangered species.
The Workshop will include reviews of regulations on big game hunting, public land usage and Coast Guard navigation rules.
During the evening’s Public Hearing portion, commissioners will hear Secretary’s Orders on Free Park Entrance and Free Fishing Days, then vote on regulations pertaining to threatened and endangered species special permits, enforcement actions and recovery plan procedures, according to a news release.
The public is invited to attend both sessions, and time will be set aside at the beginning of each for public comment on nonagenda items. Live audio and video feeds of the meeting will be available online at ksoutdoors.com.
Following the Jan. 11 meeting, the next commission meeting will be March 22, 2018, at the Kansas Historical Society in Topeka.
