Hayden’s Thomas Heinen and Gypsum resident Hunter Baird have been picked to the 2018 Bassmaster High School All-State team for Kansas, with Heinen’s teammate Brock Bila, of Louisburg, earning an honorable mention nod.
The trio were among 64 anglers named Friday to the all-state fishing team. A second panel will review the nominations of all 64 anglers and pick 12 members of the Bassmaster All-American Fishing Team.
The 12 finalists will compete in a one-day Bassmaster All-American High School Bass Tournament during the 2018 Toyota Bassmaster Texas Fest event May 17-20 on Lake Travis out of Jonestown, Texas.
This marks Heinen’s third time being selected for the All-State team and Bila’s second.
