LAKE REPORTS
Banner Creek, Holton — Fair to good channel cat fishing along the shore, with fish measuring up to 12.5 pounds. Fair crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass and white bass fishing available, with some sauger and walleye caught along the dam, off submerged humps and from shore.
Clinton Reservoir, Lawrence — Crappie and Walleye/Sauger rate Fair-Good, according to the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism. The crappie bite has slowed but fish are still being caught on jigs and minnows in 10-12 feet up to 1 1/4 pounds. Channel cats up to 3 pounds can be caught along the shoreline.
Jeffrey Energy Center Aux. Lake, St. Marys — Good white bass population weighing up to 3 pounds caught shallow along the dam and rock banks, according to KDWPT. Excellent smallmouth populations along rocky shoreline. Walleye, largemouth numbers low. Fair wiper population up to 12 pounds being caught with white bass.
Milford Reservoir, Junction City — KDWPT notes healthy populations of crappie, white bass, wipers, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and catfish. Walleye fishing fair to good near flats. Blue catfish between 25 and 40 inches must be released. Only one blue cat measuring 40 inches or longer can be kept.
Perry Reservoir, Ozawkie — Good channel catfish up to 10 pounds in arms and coves using cut shad, according to KDWPT. Good populations of sizeable largemouth and smallmouth bass. Fair white bass populations that should be running about this time. Excellent crappie bite from angler reports near the bank.
Lake Shawnee, Topeka — Fair to good largemouth bass bite but small population, caught mainly near shoreline cover. Fair crappie bite near shore. Fair to good bluegill bite and good carp bite as carp have been spawning in the shallows this past week. Carp can be caught on worms, corn or doughbait, according to KDWPT.
Shawnee State Fishing Lake, Silver Lake — Good population of big largemouth bass, improving crappie population with fish weight half a pound to pound, according to KDWPT. Many channel cat coming up to shore at night, per angler account.
Tuttle Creek, Manhattan — As of last week, good crappie bite measuring 1/2 to 2 pounds in 5 to 8 feet of water along rocky banks, coves with good-size fish being pulled out. Fair to good white bass bite despite low numbers along dam and rocky points. Fair catfish and saugeye bite.
