New bird counts by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released recently show good news for duck hunters, especially fans of mallards, gadwalls and green-winged teal.
A group of six friends from the Topeka area ventured north earlier this summer for “the worst fishing trip ever,” a 23-year running joke that has become an annual tradition.
The 2018 Waterfowl Population Survey was released Monday by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and though the numbers were down from last year, they were still well above the long-term average.
Fall is right around the corner, and with it some great waterfowl hunting.
